5 Ways To Beat Your Breakout Blues

5 Ways To Beat Your Breakout Blues

Don’t you just hate it when you wake up one morning and find out that a pimple seems to have appeared magically out of nowhere?

Or worse, when not just one but several pimples decide to make an appearance on your face?

Welcome to the Breakout Blues, and here are some tips on how to beat them.

  • Origin Story. First of all, find out what caused you to breakout in the first place. Is it stress related, a change in environment, an unhealthy diet or lack of sleep. If you know the root cause then it’ll be easier to prevent it  or treat it the next time.

  • Stay away from makeup. If you have a breakout, your skin will need time to calm down,  breathe, heal and recover. So it’s best to stay away from most makeups, particularly  primer, liquid foundation and blush. These products can easily get into your pores and make your breakouts worse.

  • Wash your face 2x a day. You need to remove impurities, dead skin cells and extra oil from your face. But don’t do it more than twice a day because it will strip your skin of the moisture it needs. Wash with warm water and use a gentle cleanser so as not to stress out your already inflamed skin. And don’t scrub it too vigorously either.

  • Stay away from alcohol. No we don’t mean the drink (although it could also influence acne development) but rather the alcohol in some acne products. It dries and irritates the skin, making your acne even worse. Instead go for products with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide which reduces oil and breaks down whiteheads and blackheads.

  • Pamper your skin. There are a lot of skincare products whose ingredients are particularly good for breakouts. Vitamin C is both exfoliating and healing so it would be good for those with pimples and scarring. Stay away from some home treatments though. Because while your skin is still inflamed, it’s better to go with a product that’s been tried and tested and has passed quality standards.

A good product to try is a Vitamin C facial mask that’s made from 100% organic and natural ingredients. Vitamin C has always been considered a potent superfood that has been proven to do wonders for your skin.
