About this product

The Vitamin C Clay Mask is the product that built Gleamin. It started with a simple idea: people loved mixing turmeric and vitamin C-rich fruit into homemade masks, so we set out to make that ritual work properly. The first concept came in 2017, the mask launched in 2019, and it has won two "Best Mask" awards since.

  • Why people love it

Most clay masks do one job: soak up oil. This one is built to brighten as well as refresh. Kaolin and hydroclay lift away oil and buildup, while Kakadu plum, desert lime and turmeric help skin look brighter and more even. Aloe vera keeps it comfortable, so skin feels soft when you rinse, not tight.

  • What to expect

    • Right after rinsing: skin looks fresher and more radiant, and pores look refined.
    • Over 8 to 12 weeks of regular use: a brighter, more even-looking tone, with dark spots looking less noticeable. Results build gradually and vary from person to person.

Many people also use it on the chest, back and underarms. Read more in Inside Our Vitamin C Clay Mask, or see how it fits into a simple brightening routine.

  • Sizes

The standard 2.5 fl oz (75 mL) jar comes with an application brush and gives around 20 full-face uses. For regulars, there's a 5 fl oz (150 mL) jumbo jar with the same formula. Both are sold in our Amazon store.

  • Made with care

Our vitamin C blend of Kakadu plum and desert lime comes from Australia, where the mask was first made. The mask is dermatologist tested: a repeat insult patch test on 52 adults found no irritation or allergic reactions. If your skin is sensitive, patch test on your inner arm first. Questions? How to use

  1. Start with clean, dry skin.

  2. Apply an even layer with the brush or your fingertips, avoiding the eyes and lips. Use it on the whole face, just the T-zone, or on the spots you want to focus on.

  3. Leave it on for about 10 minutes, until it dries (no longer than 15).

  4. Rinse with warm water and pat dry.

  5. Follow with your serum and moisturizer. Start with 1 to 2 times a week and build up to 3 if your skin enjoys it.

Who it's for

  • Normal, combination and oily skin, and visible pores
  • Anyone who wants a quick, once-or-twice-a-week reset

Questions about this product

How long do I leave the Vitamin C Clay Mask on?

About 10 minutes, until it dries. Don't leave it on for more than 15 minutes, then rinse with warm water and pat dry.

How often should I use the clay mask?

Start with 1 to 2 times a week. If your skin feels comfortable, you can build up to 3 times a week. On the other days, a vitamin C serum like our Superactive Serum keeps your routine going.

Does the turmeric in the mask stain skin?

The mask is a bright turmeric yellow, but it's made to rinse off clean with warm water. Rinse well around the hairline and brows, and use a dark or dedicated towel just in case.

Can a vitamin C clay mask help with dark spots?

Used regularly, the mask helps skin look brighter and more even, so dark spots look less noticeable over time. Most people see a gradual change over 8 to 12 weeks, and results vary. Daily sunscreen makes a big difference too.

For stubborn or spreading dark patches, talk to a dermatologist, who can check the cause and discuss prescription options.

Is the Vitamin C Clay Mask OK for sensitive skin?

It was patch tested on 52 adults under a consulting dermatologist's supervision, with no irritation or allergic reactions observed. Everyone's skin is different, so patch test on your inner arm first, start once a week and skip it on broken or irritated skin.

*Repeat insult patch test, Princeton Consumer Research, 2023.
