Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to use gleamin.com, including people with disabilities. This page explains what we do, where we are still working and how to reach us.

Our commitment

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. These are widely used guidelines for making websites easier to use for people with disabilities.

Accessibility is ongoing work. We keep checking and improving the site as it grows.

What we do

Clear colors and text

• We choose text and background colors with enough contrast to read easily.
• We use text sizes that can be zoomed up to 200% without breaking the page.
• We do not rely on color alone to share important information.

Keyboard access

• You can reach links, buttons and forms with a keyboard alone.
• We show a clear outline on the item you are on (the "focus").
• The order of the page makes sense when you move through it with the Tab key.

Images and media

• We add short text descriptions ("alt text") to meaningful images.
• Decorative images are hidden from screen readers so they do not get in the way.

Clear structure

• We use proper headings, lists, links and labels so screen readers can make sense of each page.
• Every form field has a clear label and plain error messages.
• We write in plain, simple language.

Respecting your settings

• The site adjusts to phones, tablets and computers.
• We follow your device's "reduce motion" setting where we use animation.

Known limitations

We are still building parts of the site, so some things may not work as well as they should yet:

• Some older blog posts may have images without full alt text. We are updating them.
• New pages may not be fully tested with every screen reader yet.
• Some content comes from other companies, such as Amazon product pages and our social media pages. We do not control how accessible those sites are.
