This Cookie Policy explains which cookies, pixels and similar tools gleamin.com uses, why we use them and how you can control them. The site is run by Gleamin Inc. Our Privacy Center explains how we handle personal information more broadly.

The short version

  • We use three kinds of cookies and pixels: strictly necessary, analytics and advertising.
  • Our advertising partners are Meta, Google, TikTok and Pinterest. Some information also goes to them from our servers (server-side tracking).
  • You can turn off advertising cookies at any time in your browser settings or in each partner's ad settings (see below), or ask us by email to stop.
  • In the EU, the UK and Switzerland, we ask before we use any analytics or advertising cookies.

Cookies, pixels and server-side tracking

Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser. They help the site, or a partner, remember your browser.

Pixels (also called tags) are small pieces of code on a page. They tell a partner, such as Meta or Google, that someone visited the page or took an action, like joining our waitlist. Pixels often set or read cookies.

Server-side tracking means our servers send information about an event, such as a page view, a waitlist sign-up or a click to Amazon, straight to an advertising partner. No cookie is needed for that step, but it can include the partner's cookie ID, your IP address, browser details and, for waitlist sign-ups, a scrambled ("hashed") version of your email address.

We also use similar tools, such as browser storage. In this policy, "cookies" includes all of these.

Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are needed for the site to work. You can block them in your browser, but parts of the site may not work.

  • Team access (gleamin_preview). Remembers that you entered the team access password. Set only after you enter it. Lasts 30 days.
  • Sign-in (names start with "sb-", set by Supabase). Keeps team members signed in and their session secure. Set only when a team member signs in. Lasts until sign-out, or up to 400 days.

Analytics cookies

These help us understand how people use the site, so we can improve it.

Advertising cookies and pixels

These help us measure our ads, show our ads to people who visited our site and find new people who may like Gleamin. They also let each partner learn about your visits, which may count as "selling" or "sharing" under some US state laws.

Cookie names and how long they last are set by each partner and can change.

Where we use them. Analytics and advertising tools run on our public pages. They do not run in our password-protected team area.

Emails. Our emails may contain a small pixel that tells us whether you opened an email and which links you clicked.

When we ask for your consent

  • In the US, analytics and advertising cookies are on by default. You can turn them off at any time (see below).
  • In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, we do not use analytics or advertising cookies, or send server-side advertising events about you, unless you agree first.

How to control cookies and ads

Ask us. Email support@gleamin.com with the subject "Do Not Sell or Share" and we will stop sharing your information for advertising. See the Privacy Center for more.

Your browser settings. Most browsers let you see, delete and block cookies. If you block strictly necessary cookies, the team area will not work.

Each partner's ad settings

Industry opt-outs

Opt-outs work per browser and device. If you clear your cookies or switch browsers, set them again. Opting out does not stop all ads. You will still see ads, but they will not be based on your visits to our site.

Do Not Track. Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no common standard for it, so we do not respond to it.

Other websites

When you click through to Amazon or to our social media pages, you leave our site. Those sites set their own cookies under their own policies. We do not control them.

Changes to this policy

If we add or change cookies or partners, we will update this page and change the "last updated" date.
